site news:
You might have heard some drilling and hammering and noticed slight changes as my imaginary staff and I slapped a new coat of paint on the joint, did a thorough cleaning and remodeling, and sat down to plan fun new things.
In addition to the usual DVD release Shopping List, excerpts /previews of Dark Pages noir writing, reviews, regular and big feature posts, there will be new little posts like Smackdowns and Lists. The regular Links roundups have been going on all week, hope you like, it’s a lot more organized than sharing some over at the G+ page, some on twitter, some in the sidebar, some thrown out the window in traffic, some flung to the birds and screamed from rooftops and so forth.
There was a major cleanup crew at work in the ARCHIVES room, mainly attending to that one unfortunate incident (don’t worry there’s no evidence left of any crime, not that there was one) but also sorting and adding many more specific CATEGORIES, click to see, so you can find whatever it is you’re looking for (within limits). I’m also working on bribing getting the occasional guest to post here because I feel like fangirling and/or arguing over movies with fellow buffs.
Please direct your gaze to the topmost rightmost corner of this blog where you will notice COMFY CHAIR! is back up there to stay all week so it will be seen more than just on Sundays– folks who are kind enough to link to SPEAKEASY, take their time to visit regularly and/or otherwise treat us kind should expect to see themselves honored there as a big cheers & thank you, you deserve a spotlight for thinking of this joint.
And speaking of thanks, I have a lot of that for everyone who stops to read, hits the like button, subscribes, retweets, makes nice comments (nice ones!) and links here, you make it fun for me, and hopefully the things I have in store will be fun for you too.
cheers!
Kristina

Loving your regular posts, Kristina! I’m slowly catching up on my reading after vacation. Wasn’t 711 OCEAN DRIVE good? The more I think it over in retrospect, the more I realize how much I enjoyed it. :) Thanks for the link!!

Laura

I am delighted that “Carole & Co.” has been a frequent reference source for you, and I promise to keep up such work. We celebrated our fifth anniversary last month, and it’s been a joy to win new fans for Carole Lombard in particular and classic Hollywood in general.
