O Canada Blogathon: It’s a Wrap!

st

We make jokes about Canadians saying ‘sorry’ all the time, but this time we’re really sorry to see this amazing event come to an end. Ruth of Silver Screenings and I thank everybody who took the time to watch and write something honouring Canada’s movies and movie people. So many eras, figures and types of films were covered so well. The full archive of posts, related previews and all announcements is now here  to be enjoyed anytime, please make sure you’ve visited all the great blogs who contributed wonderful reviews and profiles.

Thanks to the good (and very Canadian) folks at The National Film Board of Canada (NFB), one lucky blogathon participant will receive a DVD of Sarah Polley’s film Stories We Tell.

The blog drawn is A Shroud of Thoughts. Congratulations and once again a huge Thank You to everyone for taking part and making this such a fun event 🙂 Timbits for everyone!

  1. Great stuff, Kristina and Ruth, for putting this all together!

I wept momentarily on discovering I hadn’t been the lucky one to snag Stories We Tell but then, though hopelessness and futility weighed heavy in my heart, I did a quick online check . . . and discovered to my astonishment that our local public library, which is about the size of a large shed, has a copy in their little DVD collection. Yahey! You can guess what’s going to be watched in this household tonight!

    1. That’s funny, well guess what, you are ALL winners to us for being so nice to join in with great writing. And I look forward to reading your review once you do see that movie! Thanks 🙂

      1. I forgot to report back on the Sarah Polley movie. We absolutely loved it. I won’t say any more than that because it’s impossible to say much about it without spoiling it. We went into it not knowing what to expect, and that’s exactly the way to be (we decided) if you want to get the most out of this particular offering. But it’s wonderful, it’s funny and it’s moving.

        1. that’s good to hear you liked it! so the blogathon keeps on going, exposing people to even more Canadian films! Thanks for coming back to update.

    1. HAHAHA! I only looked at the first few minutes and it looks amazing! Never seen it before. Thanks so much for this link! 😀 and for taking part, of course

  2. I took part only as a lucky reader and a very thankful one!! What a wonderful event!! Thank you for all your and Ruth’s hard work and for all the wonderful writing from all the participants. Somewhere up there my movie-crazy grandmother from Prince Edward Island is smiling…

    1. That’s a great compliment, so glad you enjoyed everything, the variety and hard work that came from everyone is impressive. And to think there are still many essentials left to talk about… Next year? 😉
